The idea for the new bar was born in 2016, namely, to follow the example of the “cycling” bar and create another – this time with the help of runners. In the context of the 21st Ljubljana marathon, many participants were activated to provide a baseline for Fructal’s technologists through their votes, opinions, ideas and wishes. The technologists analysed and processed all the collected data and started to create a new flavour.
It was clear at the start of 2017 that the new bar would be made from almonds, cranberries and covered with yoghurt coating.
Runners wanted the bar to have a higher protein and magnesium content.
It was officially introduced in Ljubljana at the start of May in 2017 at the Wings for Life World Run in the Frutabela Lab. All the ingredients, design, creation and development of the new flavour were presented.
